Lagos, Nigeria – On August 12, 2025, the National President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR, mni, FCILT, paid a historic maiden visit to the CILT Secretariat in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Accompanied by the Deputy National President, Mrs. Juliana Saka, FCILT, the visit served as a critical foundational step in Dr. Oyeyemi’s “Project 2027” agenda—a strategic roadmap aimed at repositioning the Institute as a global powerhouse in the transport and logistics sector.

A New Vision for CILT Nigeria

Since his election, Dr. Oyeyemi has emphasized that his leadership is “not an elevation, but a trust.”¹ The visit to the Secretariat provided an opportunity for the new leadership to engage directly with the administrative heart of the Institute, assessing operational capacities and aligning the staff with the new administration’s core pillars:

• Digital Transformation: Modernizing the Institute’s internal processes to better serve its growing membership.²
• Legislative Advocacy: Moving toward securing an Act of Parliament to grant CILT full legal authority to regulate professional standards in Nigeria.³
• Membership Expansion: Targeting a 60% growth in membership over the next four years.

Leadership in Action

During the tour of the facility, Dr. Oyeyemi expressed his appreciation for the solid foundation laid by the outgoing administration led by Barr. Mfon Usoro. He reiterated that the Ikoyi Secretariat would remain the nerve center for the Institute’s ambitious goals, including the upcoming Nigeria Transport and Logistics Outlook Report and the CILT Green Logistics Initiative.
