The automotive industry is more than just vehicles and assembly plants; it is a vital ecosystem that relies heavily on clear communication, strategic media partnerships, and informed journalism to steer national growth.

On June 4, 2026, I had the distinct honor of serving as the Chairman of the Occasion for the Motoring World International 30th Anniversary Celebration, held at the MUSON Centre in Lagos State.

Celebrating three decades of excellence (1996–2026), this landmark milestone brought together regulatory leaders, industry pioneers, and distinguished stakeholders under a highly timely theme: “Motoring Media as a Catalyst for Automotive Industry Growth in Nigeria.”

The Power of the Motoring Media

Addressing a room filled with visionary minds, I was reminded of how crucial specialized journalism is to our structural development. In my opening remarks, I emphasized that the media does not merely report on the automotive sector; it shapes consumer confidence, tracks policy implementation, and projects Nigeria’s industrial potential to the global market.

For 30 years, Motoring World International, led by Publisher/CEO Mr. Femi Owoeye, has stood as a premier publication doing exactly that—documenting our journey, highlighting challenges, and celebrating local milestones.

A Gathering of Visionaries

The anniversary program featured an incredible lineup of leaders dedicated to moving Nigeria forward:

Royal Father of the Day: His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Olusegun Aderemi, JP, the Atayero of Aramoko Kingdom, who added cultural prestige and wisdom to the gathering.

Keynote Speaker: Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), who delivered a brilliant presentation on how strategic media collaboration can accelerate localized automotive manufacturing.

Special Guests: Insightful goodwill messages were shared by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation for Ekiti State, Hon. Kehinde Kolawole Ajobiewe, and the Distinguished Guest of Honour, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, MFR, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.

One of the major highlights of the day was the official unveiling of the Motoring World Special 30th Anniversary Edition, a curated volume that mirrors the passion, purpose, and impact of the last thirty years.

The Journey Continues

Stepping down from the podium, I felt a deep sense of optimism for the future of logistics, transportation, and industrialization in Nigeria. When public policy, private enterprise, and dedicated media channels align, sustainable development becomes inevitable.
