There is something uniquely rejuvenating about a Sunday spent on the fairways. On April 12th, I had the pleasure of participating in the Golf Kitty held at the prestigious Arsenal Golf Club in Owerri.
The event was more than just a competition; it was a gathering of enthusiasts who share a deep appreciation for the precision, patience, and camaraderie that golf demands.
The Experience at Arsenal Golf Club
The Arsenal Golf Club provided a stunning backdrop for the day. Known for its challenging layout and well-maintained greens, the course required a strategic approach and a steady hand.
The Atmosphere: The energy was high from the first tee-off. The “Kitty” format always brings out a healthy level of competition while maintaining the social bond that makes the Owerri golfing community so special.
The Game: Throughout the round, I found myself navigating the tactical nuances of the course—balancing aggressive drives with the delicate touch needed on the putting greens.
The Community: Beyond the scorecards, the highlight was the opportunity to connect with fellow golfers, sharing insights and enjoying the shared pursuit of the perfect swing.
Reflections on the Day
Golf is often a metaphor for life: it requires focus, the ability to recover from a difficult lie, and the grace to enjoy the journey regardless of the final tally. Participating in the Golf Kitty was a reminder of why I step onto the course week after week.
A huge thank you to the organizers at Arsenal Golf Club and my fellow players for making it a memorable Sunday in Owerri. I’m already looking forward to the next time we tee up!
Keep swinging,
